Scoring for the Computer-based ELPAC

Teacher Hand Scoring System (THSS)
Initial ELPAC
In order to determine where responses for the computer-based assessment (CBA) should be submitted based on the grade span, and domain, refer to the following table:

| K–12 | CBA | Listening and Reading | Test examiner selects the student’s responses in the Test Delivery System (TDS) for K–2 students. Students in grades 3–12 enter their responses in the TDS. |
| K–12 | CBA | Speaking | Test examiner enters scores in the Data Entry Interface (DEI) during or after the administration of the Speaking test in the TDS. |
| K–2 | CBA | Writing | Test examiner enters scores in the DEI after the Writing Answer Books have been locally scored. |
| 3–12 | CBA | Writing | Test examiner enters scores in the Teacher Hand Scoring System (THSS) after students have completed the Writing test in the TDS. |
Listening and Reading domains for all grades will be scored via the TDS.
The Speaking domain for all grades will be locally scored in-the-moment and scores will be entered by the test examiner into the DEI. (Refer to the Using the DEI 
section of the Initial ELPAC Online Test Administration Manual for more information about this application.)
The Writing domain for kindergarten through grade two will remain paper-based and will be locally scored. Scores will be entered into the DEI.
The Writing domain student responses for grades three through twelve will be scored locally in the THSS. Once all four domains have been scored, Student Score Reports will be produced and available for download in TOMS .
Summative ELPAC
In order to determine where responses for the CBA should be submitted based on the grade span, and domain, refer to the following table:

| 3–12 | CBA | Listening, Reading, and Writing | Students enter their responses in the TDS. |
Listening and Reading domains for all grades will be scored via the test delivery system.
The Speaking domain for all grades will be locally scored in-the-moment and scores will be entered by the test examiner into the DEI. (Refer to the Using the DEI section of the Summative ELPAC Online Test Administration Manual for more information about this application.)
The Writing domain for kindergarten through grade two will remain paper-based and Answer Books should be returned to ETS for scoring.
The Writing domain for students in grade three through grade twelve will be scored by ETS raters.
Paper-Pencil Tests
Please visit the CAASPP and ELPAC Special Request for Paper Exams web form to request CAASPP and ELPAC braille, large-print, or paper-pencil tests for students with an IEP or Section 504 plan. In order to determine where responses for the paper-pencil test (PPT) should be submitted based on the grade span, and domain, refer to the following tables:
