About Supported Operating Systems

A new version of a supported desktop or mobile operating system may not be supported immediately upon its release. It is recommended that you do not upgrade student testing devices until the operating system version is supported. In the ELPAC Audio module in TOMS that is used for the Initial ELPAC paper-pencil test, resizing the window causes the screen’s text to be partially hidden. The horizontal scroll bar does not appear to display what is on the right side of the screen, and the text does not wrap.

Workaround: At this time, please avoid resizing the Audio module window when doing so prevents text from displaying fully on the screen.

When students are using a macOS 11 (Big Sur) device to take tests in remote sessions, the screen sharing feature does not function properly. While students are permitted to share a screen with the test administrator or test examiner, the student interface does not display on the Test Administrator Interface. This issue occurs whether the student is using a conventional web browser or the secure browser application.

Workaround: Students must use Chrome, Windows, or an earlier supported macOS version, to be able to use screen sharing.

Initial ELPAC DFAs Updated with a New DEI Link

The Directions for Administration (DFAs) have been updated in TOMS to replace the URL for the Data Entry Interface (DEI). Please update any bookmarks saved for the DEI as the old link will no longer work beginning October 31, 2022.

New DEI Link: https://ca.cambiumtds.com/student/?a=ResponseEntry Link to external site

Old DEI Link: https://ca.tds.cambiumast.com/student/?a=ResponseEntry Link to external site

Resolution: If the LEA plans to use the DFAs electronically, please download the updated DFAs by selecting the [Resources] tab in TOMS Link to external site. If the LEA has already printed the DFAs, no further action is needed.

There has been a recent change to the Grade 6-8 Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing DFA and to the Grade 6–8 Visual Impairment and Braille DFA. The language function and the anchor samples listed on the anchor chart for "Poster Project" on page 31 are incorrect.

Resolution: The anchor chart was updated and page 31 of the DFA was reposted in the Moodle Training Site Link to external site on August 24, 2022. It can be found in the Test Examiner Training and Calibration course. It is recommended that LEAs reprint page 31 if they have already printed this DFA. For LEAs that wish to download the updated DFA, it will be reposted in the Test Operations Management System (TOMS) Link to external site on August 26, 2022.

Some users were being redirected away from the Data Entry Interface (DEI) login page and were unable to enter data. This issue also impacted users accessing the Interim Assessment Viewing System (IAVS).

Resolution: This issue has been resolved and links to the DEI and IAVS have been updated on the websites. Users should use the following URLs to access the DEI and IAVS and not previously bookmarked URLs or URLs referenced in the Directions for Administration.

Due to the CALPADS update and extended CALPADS downtime in early April, ETS was unable to process the CALPADS data into TOMS. This issue impacted both CAASPP and ELPAC.

Resolution:

This issue is resolved and automated processing of the CALPADS file has resumed.

The 2022 CALPADS Updates Link to external site website is available to assist coordinators in managing the various anomalies that have occurred during the disruption of normal CALPADS processing.

ETS was able to manually process the file into TOMS, which passed the information into the test delivery system (TDS). All updates that your LEA posted into CALPADS by 5 p.m. on Friday are available for student testing as of Monday, May 9, 2022. Students who have taken the Initial ELPAC since Friday, August 13, 2021, will receive a Student Score Report that contains their score. However, because of an issue with the English Language Acquisition Status (ELAS) updates that TOMS sends to CALPADS, students will remain “To Be Determined” in CALPADS and TOMS until the expected resolution on Monday, August 30, 2021. This will also affect any reports in TOMS where the ELAS is shown.

08/25/21 08/31/21

The 2021-22 Initial ELPAC Student Score Data File in TOMS is not downloading for LEAs with students who have completed the Initial ELPAC.
