CAASPP and ELPAC: ORS Retires in January
CAASPP and ELPAC email update, November 30, 2020.
Dear LEA CAASPP Coordinator or LEA ELPAC Coordinator:
The Online Reporting System (ORS) will retire in January 2021. Users will lose access to ORS on January 6, 2021, and ORS will be retired as a system during the January system downtime detailed on the Planned System Downtime web page. Download any historical reports for your records prior to January 6, 2021. On January 12, 2021, when systems resume, historical and future summative test results will only be available in the California Educator Reporting System (CERS).
CERS allows users to access individual and aggregate student results from the CAASPP and the Summative ELPAC, as well as from the Smarter Balanced Interim Assessments. All available CAASPP data, beginning with the 2014–15 administration, has been transferred to CERS and is currently available. All Summative ELPAC data, beginning with the 2018–19 administration, is also available in CERS.
CERS provides access to student test results as they are reported, similar to the ORS. This includes individual student test results and aggregate reports, to allow for early planning. Individual, site, and LEA test reports are available to users dependent upon their role.
Note: Student score reports for distribution to parents, guardians, and students are only available within TOMS.
When the ORS retires, the rostering function will be removed from the Completion Status and Roster Management system, but completion status will still be available. LEA, as well as site, CAASPP and ELPAC coordinators will be able to create and manage student groups (i.e., rosters) in CERS using the [Student Groups] button. Creating student groups provides teachers access to their students' test results.
LEA CAASPP coordinators and LEA ELPAC coordinators should access data in CERS now to become familiar with the reporting features and available reports. More information about CERS and its features can be found in the 2020–21 CERS User Guide .
Questions regarding the ORS and the 2020–21 CAASPP and ELPAC administrations should be directed to CalTAC, by phone at 800-955-2954 or by email at caltac@ets.org.
Sincerely,
California Technical Assistance Center
