Urgent Reminders
Final Release of Summative ELPAC Student Results
Superintendents and LEA ELPAC coordinators have been notified by the CDE about the public release of student scores on the Test Results for California's Assessments web page. Student scores were released on October 24, 2022.
Upcoming Dates
November 1: Summative ELPAC Ordering Windows
The Summative ELPAC is a computer-based assessment, with students in kindergarten through grade two taking the Writing domain using paper–pencil testing forms. The primary materials ordering window opens in the Test Operations Management System (TOMS) on November 1 and closes on December 19, 2022.
November 1: Summative Alternate ELPAC AST Open
The statewide Summative Alternate ELPAC Administration and Scoring Training (AST) is available on the Moodle Training Site (Moodle) beginning November 1, 2022. Enrollment keys for the Summative Alternate ELPAC LEA certification courses are available to LEA ELPAC coordinators on the AST website
. Access codes to the AST website were emailed to LEA coordinators on October 31, 2022. The deadline to complete the LEA certification is December 16, 2022.
November 1: Summative Alternate ELPAC Form and Second Scoring Assignments
Form assignments and second scoring assignments for the 2022–23 Summative Alternate ELPAC administration are now available on the Forms Assignment for the 2022–23 Summative Alternate ELPAC Test Administration web page and the Second Scoring Assignments for the 2022–23 Summative Alternate ELPAC Test Administration web page. A subsection of schools assigned Form 2 will be required to second score.

November 1: Introduction to CERS for Teachers, 3:30–5:30 p.m.
This two-hour online training will engage attendees in the California Educator Reporting System (CERS) and will cover everything from an overview of CERS features and assessment results to resources to support classroom instruction. Register now for the Introduction to CERS for Teachers training.
November 7: Data-Driven Decision-Making Training Series for Educational Leaders, 3–4:30 p.m.
This training series will consist of four 90-minute modules. Module 1 will cover the data available from summative assessments and how it can serve as a jumping off point to find areas of opportunity and to make connections to classroom teaching and learning. Team attendance is encouraged, and teams could include LEA or site coordinators, curriculum leads, teacher leaders, or coaches. November 9: Coffee Session, 2–3 p.m.

to submit questions, request demonstrations, or share a best practice.
November 15: Tools for Teachers Shared Practices Webinar: Boosting Instruction with Formative Assessment and Accessibility Strategies Training, 3:30–4:30 p.m.
Join fellow educators for another installment of the Tools for Teachers Shared Practices Webinar Series! Each webinar in the series will feature California educators sharing how they use Tools for Teachers and related resources to support teaching and learning in the classroom. November 15: Alternate ELPAC AST Question and Answer Session, 2:30–3:30 p.m.
This question and answer session will be held November 15, 2022, to provide educators an opportunity to ask questions related to the Alternate ELPAC AST. Register now for the session.
November 17: Pretest Virtual Training Series, 2–4 p.m.
The two-hour session, Get to Know TOMS, will help LEA coordinators learn how to navigate TOMS successfully, plan for the completion of tasks, and submit test security incidents. Send questions in advance by submitting them on a Pretest Virtual Training Series Q&A Form . Register now

Ongoing Reminders
Summative ELPAC Form Assignments
Form assignments for the 2022–23 Summative ELPAC administration are now available on the Forms Assignment for the 2022–23 Summative ELPAC Administration web page. Use the lookup tool to identify which form number the LEA has been assigned. In some cases, a large LEA will be assigned to multiple forms; these will be displayed accordingly. A form assignments webinar is available in the Moodle Training Site (Moodle) , in the Trainer Resources course.
Summative ELPAC AST Opens
The statewide Summative ELPAC Administration and Scoring Trainings (ASTs) are available online in Moodle . Moodle keys are available on the AST website
. Starting with the 2022–23 test administration year, training binders are fully digital and will no longer be available to order. The deadline to complete LEA certification is December 5, 2022.
ELPAC The Results Are In—Now What? Modules 1–14
Modules 1 through 14 of the ELPAC The Results Are In—Now What? are currently available in Moodle . These modules demonstrate how to use data to advance English language proficiency through high-leverage instructional sequences. Participants will use a protocol linking two of the more difficult ELPAC task types to robust classroom instruction that can be used to create ELPAC-like assessments in context. Video clips, student work, and reflections from the implementation of these practices with English learner students will be shared.
