Initial ELPAC and Initial Alternate ELPAC—Participate in a Focus Group!
ELPAC email update, October 21, 2022.
Dear Educator
On behalf of ETS and the California Department of Education (CDE), we thank you for your hard work and effort toward administering the Initial English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) and Initial Alternate ELPAC these past few months. ETS, under direction from the CDE, will hold virtual focus group meetings to collect feedback on the administration of the Initial ELPAC and Initial Alternate ELPAC.
Virtual focus group meetings based on participants' Initial ELPAC or Initial Alternate ELPAC role will be held in November. A focus group provides you with an opportunity to discuss your experience administering various parts of the assessment(s).
Each focus group will concentrate on issues related to preparing or training prior to test administration, challenges encountered, and suggestions for improvement. The information gathered will inform and contribute to planning for future test administrations.
Each focus group will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. The following table lists the audiences and dates for the focus groups:
Focus Group Audience | Date |
---|---|
Initial ELPAC local educational agency (LEA) and site coordinators | Tuesday, November 1, 2022 |
Initial Alternate ELPAC LEA and site coordinators | Monday, November 7, 2022 |
Initial ELPAC test examiners | Wednesday, November 9, 2022 |
Initial Alternate ELPAC test examiners | Monday, November 14, 2022 |
Please confirm your availability and complete this online interest form by Thursday, October 27, 2022, to be considered for focus group participation.
Sincerely,
California Outreach Team
