ELPAC email update, October 16, 2020.
Dear Local Educational Agency (LEA) ELPAC Coordinator,
This is a reminder that the 2020–2021 Summative English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) Moodle Training Site (Moodle) opens October 19, 2020.
To obtain your Moodle enrollment keys, you will need the registration access code provided below. The LEA ELPAC coordinator must log on to the ELPAC Administration and Scoring Training registration site and select the [Summative Moodle Training Site] button to access your keys.
Registration access code: <PASSCODE>
As a coordinator, you need to:
- Complete the appropriate LEA Certification course by December 1, 2020.
- Give trainers and test examiners the appropriate enrollment key(s).
- Ensure that all test examiners have a Moodle account. (User accounts from previous administrations are still active.)
- Request reporting access for up to three trainers.
- Ensure test examiners know which grade/grade span Speaking calibration section they should complete.
- Verify that test examiners have completed calibration by obtaining the completion certificate from the test examiner or by verifying completion in Moodle.
New Moodle Quick Start Guides: Quick start guides are available for LEA coordinators/trainers and test examiners to help you understand changes that have been made in Moodle and assist you in navigating the courses.
New Test Examiner Speaking Calibration Certificate: The Examiner's Resource course has been redesigned based on LEA feedback. The course is now set up by grade/grade span and test examiners will receive a calibration certificate by grade/grade span to share with the LEA ELPAC coordinator as proof of passing the Speaking calibration requirements.
District Trainer Moodle Account and Reporting Access: To gain reporting access to view test examiner progress through the Speaking calibration, the LEA ELPAC coordinator must submit the names and email addresses of the LEA ELPAC trainers responsible for monitoring. To identify the LEA ELPAC trainer, the LEA ELPAC coordinator must log on to the ELPAC Administration and Scoring Training registration site , select the [Summative Moodle Training Site] button and complete the LEA Trainer Reporting Access – Summative section. Each LEA may provide reporting access for up to three trainers.
Form Assignments: Form assignments for the 2020–21 Summative ELPAC administration are now available on the ELPAC Forms Assignments web page. Use the lookup tool to search for a local educational agency (LEA) to see which form number the LEA has been assigned.
Questions regarding training and administration of the Summative ELPAC can be submitted via the Questions and Comments link in the certification courses and in the Trainer's Resource section in Moodle.
