Initial ELPAC: Student Results and Reporting for 2019-2020
ELPAC email update, October 16, 2020.
Dear LEA ELPAC Coordinator:
The 2019–2020 Initial ELPAC administration ended on June 30, 2020. Two issues were discovered recently—during the local educational agency (LEA) preview of results—that affect the end-of-year reporting files for the 2019–2020 Initial ELPAC that are currently available for download in the Test Operations Management System (TOMS) . The first issue has been resolved; the second issue is still pending resolution.
- Resolved: Eligible students who were not administered the 2019–2020 Initial ELPAC are now included in the Initial ELPAC Student Score Data Report (LEA student data file). LEAs can now download an Initial ELPAC Student Score Data Report from TOMS that includes not-tested students.
- Pending resolution: Some student demographic information provided in the end-of-year files was not updated with the latest student demographic information received from the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System at the end of the 2019–2020 Initial ELPAC testing window. Once this issue is resolved,
- the California Department of Education (CDE) will notify LEA ELPAC coordinators by email that the Initial ELPAC data in the second embargoed preview is available. (The second preview is expected to be released late October.); and
- Educational Testing Service will notify LEAs by email that the Initial ELPAC Student Score Data Report and the Initial ELPAC Electronic Summary Report in TOMS now include updated student demographic information. (These reports are expected to be available by October 22, 2020.)
LEA ELPAC coordinators can direct questions about these reported issues or request a list of students impacted by one or both issues to CalTAC, by phone at 800-955-2954 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org . Questions regarding the second embargoed preview should be directed to the CDE's English Language Proficiency and Spanish Assessments Office by email, at email@example.com.
