CERS Update for LEA Coordinators
ELPAC email update, April 14, 2022.
Dear LEA CAASPP and ELPAC coordinators,
The California Educator Reporting System (CERS) is a free and powerful tool available to all California LEAs from the CDE. This email is intended to provide LEA coordinators with information that can be used to support educators who want to use CERS.
The CDE will be offering a 2022–23 Introduction to the California Educator Reporting System (CERS) for Test Coordinators and Administrators training session that will introduce the CERS system and all it has to offer for LEA staff who have a CERS administrator role.
This training will cover:
- Overview of CERS features for viewing assessment results
- Accessing individual and group results from CAASPP and ELPAC summative assessment results
- Options for viewing Smarter Balanced Interim Assessment Results
- How to Manage CERS Users
- What resources are available to support staff
- Assigning teachers to their student results
This three-hour training session will be offered three times:
- July 12, 2022, 9 a.m. to noon
- July 21, 2022, 1 to 4 p.m.
- October 26, 2022, 9 a.m. to noon
An email to all coordinators and administrators will be sent when registration opens during the first week of May 2022.
Note: A CERS training session for teachers will be offered in the summer and fall. More information on the CERS teacher training will be available in May.
Coordinators are encouraged to grant CERS access to teachers and other LEA staff for viewing all summative and interim assessment results. Assigning teachers an appropriate role in the Test Operations Management System (TOMS) now will allow for the earliest access for assessment results in CERS.
If you have any questions about creating TOMS accounts for teachers in your LEA to provide access to CERS, please contact your LEA's designated Success Agent. Designated LEA Success Agents can be located on the California Outreach web page.
Sincerely,
