Implications of COVID-19 and the Suspension of Testing (Last Updated: May 21, 2020)
As a result of unprecedented circumstances surrounding the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the following change(s) were put into effect:
- Administration of the 2019–2020 Summative English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) has been suspended.
- The Initial ELPAC for 2019–2020 remains open. The 30-day deadline has been extended by 45-days, for a total of 75 days. This extension is for the 2019–2020 administration year only.
This web page provides local educational agencies (LEAs) with information on the impact of these circumstances and will be updated periodically.
Please let us know if Educational Testing Service can assist your LEA in any way as you move forward with testing. LEA ELPAC coordinators can direct questions about the Summative ELPAC and the Initial ELPAC administrations to the California Technical Assistance Center (CalTAC), by phone at 800-955-2954 or by email at email@example.com.
